Privacy Policy

Nine Privacy Policy

Nine is a mobile email application made by 9Folders, Inc. (“9Folders“, “we”, “us”, “our”). 9Folders respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information that you may provide us when using our mobile application or services.

No cloud server:

Several mail apps are cloud based.

They run their own servers, which connect to the actual mail servers, collect your messages on their own servers (for some duration of time), and then push messages from there to the device.

So your messages are stored somewhere else (for some duration of time). It’s one more place that stores your messages and possibly your accounts’ passwords.

Nine is not cloud based. It only stores your accounts’ passwords on the actual device. It only connects to the actual mail servers. It only stores your messages on the device.
Nine never passes user logins to 9Folders and 9Folders has no access to that information.

Data and Information:

When you log into your email account in Nine, you are granting Nine permission to securely access your information contained in or associated with those accounts. You are also providing your email address by logging into the application. When you correspond with us, we may keep the correspondence for future reference. For example, if you send us a feedback, such communications may be preserved by us.

Nine has the ability to access your phone’s contact list (emails and names) so as to add email recipients quickly and securely. We will not use your contact information for anything other than providing the Nine email service to you.

Your privacy and security are extremely important to us. Nine complies with industry standard security practices to protect your data. Nine uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and other encryption technology such as AES 256 to protect your data where applicable.
